Roads2.Com offers international 'boutique-style'
travel tours known for the small groups, carefully planned
itineraries, and flexibility to explore on 'free-style free-time'.
Roads2Cambodia.com is the website dedicated to travel tours to
Cambodia. For those who prefer to sometimes travel independently, stay
near the local activity, enjoy several days in a few places, and are energetic
enough for some walking each day, then
a Roads2.Com travel tour is for you.
The founders of Roads2.Com worked and traveled
throughout the world for over 30 years. And during that
time, they were involved with infrastructure projects in many
industries. Beyond their varied professional experiences
was the broad exposure, understanding and appreciation of many
cultures, each with its own unique contrasts and
beauty. The 'vision' of Roads2.Com is to share their
experiences and lifelong memories
with a 'boutique-style' of travel.
There are two scheduled Roads2Cambodia tours at this
time. Tour 1 begins and ends in Bangkok,
Thailand. Tour 2 begins and ends in HCMC/Saigon, Vietnam. Arrival in Cambodia is
Siem Reap. Both tours include the
magnificent world heritage site of the Khmer temple ruins of
Angkor. Traveling south from Siem Reap takes travelers to
the great lake of Tonle Sap and many other ancient
temples. Final stop in Cambodia is the capital city
of Phnom Penh.
Each tour is a 'small group'
of only 8 tour travelers. Included is
international 'airfare' with departure and transit airport 'lounge privileges', hotel
accommodations with 'breakfast', ground transportation, one 'hosted
dinner' surrounded by 'Cambodian cultures', and 'entrance
fees' to all scheduled tour sights. Assistance in arranging Roads2.Com's
daily 'free-style free-time' to explore non-scheduled tour sights is provided.
Each
Roads2.Com tour is managed by a local in-country
manager. All licensed, native speaking tour
guides are fluent in English.
Additionally, a Custom
tour can be arranged for a special family occasion or a
group of friends.
About Cambodia - Land of Ancient
Heritage - Land of Rebirth.....
The Kingdom of Cambodia, formerly knows as Kampuchea is the
successor state of the once powerful Hindu and Buddhist Khmer Empire ruling most
of Indochina. The country borders Thailand to the north and west,
Laos to the northeast, and Vietnam to the east and southeast. It has
a 275 miles coastline to the south along the Gulf of Thailand.
Cambodia is dominated by the mighty Mekong River, the Tonle' Sap, its
enormous fresh water lake, and the famous majestic temple towers of Angkor
Wat.
The kingdom's capital and largest city is Phnom Penh.
Agriculture has long been the most important sector of the Cambodian economy,
with over 50% of the population relying on growing rice as their
livelihood. Tonle' Sap - the Great Lake - expands to over 9,000
square miles during the rainy season and is an important economic source of
fish. Other sources of livelihood for Cambodians are
timber, garments and rubber. Oil and natural gas deposits found in
Cambodia's territorial waters will bring profound economic benefits in the near
future.
More than 90% of Cambodia's
population is of Khmer origin and speaks the Khmer language. Other
segments of the society include Chinese, Vietnamese, Cham and Khmer Loeu.
Rural Cambodians wear a krama scarf which is a unique aspect of
Cambodian clothing. Khmer culture, originating in the
Khmer Empire has distinctive styles of dance, architecture and sculpture, which
have been exchanged with neighboring Laos and Thailand over time. Angkor
Wat - the City Temple - is the best preserved example of Khmer
architecure. The Khmer people also have a unique way of recording
information on Tra leaf.
The cuisine of Cambodia is relatively unknown
to the world and includes tropical fruits, soups and noodles. A French
influence is Cambodian red curry with
toasted baguette bread. The most popular 'dine out' dish is ka
tieu, a pork broth rice noodle soup with fried garlic, scallions,
green onion, beef balls, shrimp, pork liver or lettuce.
Cambodians have endured far more than their share of
sorrow. Peace has come to this beautiful yet scourged land after three
decades of civil war. The Cambodian people are opening their arms to
the world.
Cambodia is
truly a Land of Anicent History, and a Land of
Rebirth.
